Renowned for its こくんブレンド, a deep roasted coffee described as having a robust bitterness complemented by a smooth, mellow sweetness, it is undoubtedly one of the highlights on the menu. Pair your coffee with their 自家製ケーキ (homemade cake), served with a cup of their specially blended coffee for just JP¥800. Customers rave about the buttery scones and delightful cakes, like the mango-melon baked creation that offers a burst of flavor even if it isn't the most visually appealing.

What truly sets Café Kokun apart is its intimate, family-run vibe. As noted by customers like David Coates, who stumbled upon this hidden treasure and was welcomed in despite the reservation-only policy, the hospitality extended by the owner is part of what makes this café memorable. (RESERVATION-ONLY!.. but totally worth it) Randomly found this place on Google maps while looking for an after dinner treat. We discovered that it was reservation-only, but the owner was sweet and still let us in. The place was so cosy and cool, filled with decorative teacups and cat knickknacks. We had tea, coffee and cake, and everything was delicious. So glad we found this gem! Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Great local spot with jazz coffee and some of the most amazing scones i’ve ever had. Be aware there is no english menu so I had to google translate everything but everything was amazing and honestly added to the authenticity of the experience

An individual-run, small, cozy family-style local coffee shop having a chill and warm atmosphere. The mango-melon baked cake tastes good, though not pretty. The Deep-roasted coffee has a good, rich, oily texture after cooling down that I love a lot.

Great cafe near Kiyosumi Gardens. The melon cheesecake was phenomenal! Menu was in Japanese, but Google Translate worked well with it, and the server was also kind enough to translate the sweets menu for us. And the cat decor is so fun and cozy!

Found this little quiet and charm gem in 清澄白河. Very nice cute decor with cat’s theme and cozy jazz music. Dark roast coffee and cakes were delicious. The lady was very nice and I wish I could learn better Japanese to be able to chat more with her next time

The cakes are incredible. On one hand they look traditional, out of a fantasy book. On the other, they have really bold flavor combinations, such as an amazing cake filled with sakura mochi. Interior is excellent too.
